These are the things that should NOT be a sometimes thing.
1. Blog – If you don’t have one, you should. If you don’t have it connected to your email list, you should. If you don’t have it connected to your social channels, you should. People care about your business, let them listen to what you have to say. Say it using ‘internet’ writing style, short, single topic articles with links to any reference or links to learn more on your website. So many people get caught up in perfection, it never gets started. Get Started.
2. SEO – Do simple things first. Like getting your page titles, focus keywords, meta descriptions and content synchronized. SEO is not about ‘keyword carpet bombing’. Be focused. Starting going page by page, asking yourself, what is this page about; then syncing up title=keywords=description=content. If you offer services or products, you better have ‘landing pages’ optimized for each one. What’s a landing page? no problem. Contact us, we will help for free.
3. Adwords – I have personally saved companies thousands of wasted dollars by doing simple things. Adwords is awesome, but most people have had bad experiences. We call it the automated salesperson. We wrote this article 7 years ago, it still applies, and most people don’t get it. Please ‘get it’ and then contact us for any help.
4. Social Media – A fad? I think not. What most people don’t do is understand the viral effect things can have. You might have ONE follower, but that follower is Ellen DeGeneres, she has 79 MILLION. Takes just one. So, is it realistic to think Ellen would follow you and re-tweet what you have to say to 79 MILLION people?. Probably not, but maybe. Let’s get started, even if you just publish your blog to your twitter feed, that is a great start.
